What is the difference between the different sex crimes under Oregon law?

Under Oregon law, there are several different crimes categorized as “sex crimes” that sometimes causes confusion. There are several other factors, or elements, that are required to rise to the level of the commission of one of the degrees of rape, sodomy, unlawful sexual penetration, or sexual abuse. However, it is the act itself that often leads to the difference in a crime being categorized as rape or sodomy or unlawful sexual penetration or sexual abuse.
